Obviously, we don’t like to think of the worst happening but sometimes circumstances are out of our control, and it helps if we know who we need to contact when things go wrong.

If you have a relatively new car, and you are still under warranty from the garage which you purchased the motor from, you can call for almost anything that goes wrong with the car. Unless it is something that you have contributed towards like an accident or mistreatment of the vehicle. So, keep the contact details of the dealer and the dealership in the car and in your phone at all times.

Another phone number that you should have handy is that of a mechanics. Not all mechanics are the same, and you’ll find that you will have a preference. Some have more extended opening hours, some have cheaper labor prices and others excel in providing an excellent service. It is a very personal choice and something that you can only usually find out with trial and error. Get your car serviced and detailed at a few different places, ask friends for recommendations and use the internet to help you find the best person for the job.

Your insurance company is essential to have on your phone. Most companies have their own mobile app, that makes things like checking your policy and reporting an accident easier than it has ever been. Put the telephone number into your phone contacts and keep a copy of the policy in your glove box too.

Ideally, you’ll never need any of the following numbers but they are hand to have should you ever find yourself in certain situations. If you are in an accident, it will be quicker for the emergency services to get in touch with your emergency contact quickly and they can get any information they need about you before they treat you. This is even more important to have if you have any medical conditions.
