Renault Kadjar: The Best SUV In 2016?

SUVs have become a very popular car type amongst many people. Typically, you find them outside school gates as parents drop off their kids. You get a lot of space in an SUV, making it ideal for a large family. But, you also see them being driven by big-time executives who want something big and flashy.

It’s a versatile car type, and there are loads to choose from on the market today. And, I think I’ve found the pick of the bunch. For a while now, the Nissan Qashqai stole the show and was king of SUVs. But, there’s a new kid on the block; the Renault Kadjar. The French manufacturers have hit the nail on the head with the Kadjar and are looking to compete for that top spot. Bearing that in mind, let’s take a look at what makes this vehicle so impressive:

Drive & Performance

One of the main things you look for in any car is how it feels and performs. The Kadjar feels very good to drive; the steering is tight, and it corners very well. The one I drove was fitted with Kumho tyres, and you felt them grip the road no matter how quickly you went. The suspension is excellent and makes even the bumpiest roads feel like carpet. As for the engines, well, there are different options available for you. I tried the 1.5-litre diesel engine and was very impressed. It’s not the most powerful engine out there, but it’s very quiet and economical.

Interior Space & Comfort

Step inside the Kadjar and you’re greeted with an excellent interior. There’s a lot of space in the front two seats, and plenty of legroom in the back. For me, the standout feature of the car is its boot. There have been lots of comparisons between this car and the Nissan Qashqai, and the Kadjar has a much bigger boot. Plus, the rear seats can be folded down to give you, even more, boot space. Regarding comfort, this car is pleasant to be in. The seats feel nice and don’t hurt your back even when driving for a long time.

Looks & Style

Looks are always going to be subjective as different people like different things. Personally, I love the way this car looks on the outside. The front of it is magnificent, and I’m a big fan of the way Renault are designing their cars nowadays. There’s no other way to describe it; it’s just a cool looking car. Is it the prettiest SUV on the market? No, I give that award to the Range Rover Sport SUV. But, take nothing away from the Kadjar, it’s very easy on the eye.

All things considered, the Renault Kadjar ticks all the boxes. It’s easy to drive, comfortable to be in, has lots of space, and is gorgeous. There’s not a lot more you could wish for from an SUV. If you’re in the market for a new car, then you need to consider it. I believe it’s surpassed the Qashqai and sits on the throne as the new king of SUVs.
