The biggest weekend for the 4-Wheel Jamboree circuit and the most anticipated weekend for the "King of the Monster Trucks" kicked off on the right foot at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

With the entire race fleet of trucks in attendance, team Bigfoot was looking to start the weekend off on a great note.  There was no chance for the team to win the championship as lead driver, Dan Runte, was resting his truck till Sunday's action.  But, all season long the teammate that has traveled to the jamborees has been sophomore driver Darron Schnell.

He's come close this season to breaking out, but has not gotten his moment in the sun.

At the same time, the team on a roll for nearly the entire season has been the Hall Brothers Racing team.  Recently, the momentum switched from Mat Dishman in the Rammunition to teammate and head driver Mark Hall, the driver of Raminator.  The winner of five of the last six events, Hall wanted to solidify his place as the champion of the season.

It was only appropriate that the young shoe and the savvy veteran would square off in the finals of the first day of the O'Reilly Auto Parts 4-Wheel Jamboree.

On this day, the veteran was the one singing the blues.

For the first time in his career, Schnell powered his "Bigfoot Bessie" Ford to the win, giving new sponsor Vi-Cor it's first taste of victory outside.  Hall, meanwhile, rolled the Raminator crossing the finish line, but in doing so he extended his points lead over his teammate.

That is key as last year the racing title went down to the final event of the weekend, so each round won or lost could be key for the points.

At the same time, Hall must get the truck prepared for the next event, making sure the roll didn't do any damage.  Schell is also in the same boat, but the repairs to his truck will be more extensive.

Schnell stood the truck straight up and down in his first freestyle of the weekend, dragging the tailgate, and ripping the bedsides off the mounts to the point where the mounting bolts on the chassis gave way.  Even the wheelie bar on the rear got pushed upward in the display of power.

Team Bigfoot has every driver in attendance with their race trucks, so there will be plenty of help for Schnell to get the truck repaired in time for Saturday.  It wouldn't be surprising as well to see them go over to the Hall Brothers and assist in making sure the Raminator is ready to go for the next day's activities.

Two racing events will make up the Saturday portion of the Indy jamboree, Noon and 6:30 p.m, and both will have significant impact on the points leading towards crowning a champion.  If Hall can get enough of a lead by the end of Saturday, he could wrap up the title a day early, which he surely wouldn't mind.

Tickets are available at the gate of the fairgrounds, and more information on Saturday's schedule of events is available at 4WheelJamboree.com.
